Sam is based in St Ives, Cornwall. His work draws inspiration from the coastal landscapes and vibrant beach scenes of the area. His abstract-relief paintings are characterised by bold shapes, grid formations, and a layering of media that creates a range of textures. Sam’s artistic practice is deeply influenced by the iconic art scene of St Ives. His use of relief elements enables shadows and highlights to shift with the light, adding depth and dynamism to his pieces.
In addition to his artistic endeavours, Sam is a full-time teacher at St Ives School, sharing his passion and knowledge with the next generation of artists. He is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists and has exhibited his work in various galleries, including the Mariners Gallery, The Crypt Gallery, The Penwith Society of Arts, Blue Mist Gallery and The Gallery, Maldon. Sam's work is is popular internationally with collectors in Australia, Switzerland, USA, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France and more.
